Tomorrow, A Birthday

June 6, 2008

The hour is closer to three than it is to two, and mid-day has turned into afternoon. The sun is blazing outside and not a single cloud is to be seen. The day coupled with the temperatures (31 degress Celsius in the shade) makes me think of days closer to the Mediterrean rather than the Baltic Sea.

My middle-sister’s birthday is tomorrow and as usual, my family stands unprepared. She will be 15 years old, and because of that important date we will head out into the sunshine and allow our sunburnt-appearances be swallowed by air-conditioned malls.

This is even though the day is the perfect day to celebrate our country – a day which even has been assigned to occur today. Though, no one in my family is very patriotic, and well is that, beacuse otherwise my little sister would find herself without presents tomorrow, on her special day.
